How Long Should I Rest Between Sets?

This discussion is an ongoing subject at every gym up and down the country! How long should you rest between sets?

Resting and building muscle
Resting and building muscle

With many answers and little science behind the subject, we have come to the conclusion that less time is best!

If you are building muscle and not strength then the less time you spend sitting around drinking water the better. If you are pushing 10 sets, then returning in 30 seconds and doing just 2 or 3 sets will tear muscle fibres at a better rate.

Rest Time & Sets!

Giving your muscle fibres time to rest will not cause them to tear as much, Stay on the bench count to 10, 20 or 30 and lift as much as possible. Even if you’re just pushing another 2 or 3 sets, continue doing this for a month and let us know in the comment below!

Shocking your muscles into growing is key when building muscle. It should not be a natural or timed process when building muscle mass!

  • Less rest the better
  • Building muscle is not time-specific
  • Shock your muscles into growing
  • 10, 20 or 30 seconds when tearing muscle fibres

Remember lift heavy and never leave the gym unles you feel like jelly! 😉
