Providing the right nutrients after a solid workout is key to bigger muscle growth. You want to eat as soon as you finish your last set or cool down, this way your muscles are provided with the ingredients to flourish!
Proteins such as egg whites, chicken, cottage cheese and other natural foods provide a wide variety of ingredients the average protein drink cannot instantly provide!
Protein Drink or Not?
A protein drink is an easy solution to your intake of proteins, but make sure you are not loading your stomach with sugars because this will just turn to fat. Naturally occurring proteins are best, but you will have to prep a meal before your workout.
Prepare Your Meals
All serious bodybuilders will have a stack of their favourite meals ready to go in the fridge. My favourite after a workout is brown rice, egg whites and cottage cheese. But, we all have different tastes so make a stack, enjoy and be proud of your prepping skills!
Another option is to enjoy both, a natural food selection and a smaller protein drink this way you’re giving your muscle growth a head start!
